2018 Summer & Fall Internship   Program 

First Impressions Marketing Group is seeking an energetic and outgoing marketing interns. This internship offers extensive breadth of real-world experience and provides a great start to a career in marketing and social media.

First Impressions Marketing Group, LLC is a Birmingham, Alabama marketing and media company that specializes in promotions, event planning, market research and consulting. WhatsHappeningBirmingham.com website and mobile app is owned and operated by First Impressions Marketing Group, LLC. Established in 2007, the company has advertised over 75,000 events and businesses locally, regionally, and nationwide. In 2010, the company launched WhatsHappeningBirmingham.com. This site informs people daily of "what's happening" in the Birmingham metro area when it comes to news, events, and local businesses. The company also owns and operates Birmingham247.net. In 2013, the company launched the app version on android and iPhone.

 

Duties:


  • Compose and send out daily email newsletters.
  • Manage and update WhatsHappeningBirmingham.com website and app.
  • Skillfully use technology and social media to create, develop, and manage client (s) accounts
  • Assist in event planning, market research, lead prospecting, advertising, and product/service promotion
  • Train potential clients on social media through web seminars and in-house workshops; actively monitor accounts
  •  As a team member, promote and grow the company at local, regional, and national levels


Technical Marketing Skills: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Linkedin, Snapchat, Periscope, Mailchimp, Constant Contact, Como App Creator, Eventbrite, and Hootsuite.


Requirements & Qualifications:

Currently enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student. Major in public relations, marketing, communications or related field. Relevant work/educational experience. Knowledge of office tools (Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher, Power Point, etc.). Knowledge of Constant Contact and MailChimp, or other email database management systems. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in database management and design of spreadsheets. Interpersonal communications skills. Excellent writing and research skills. Ability to prioritize and handle a variety of assignments simultaneously. No experience necessary, but attention to detail and accountability required.

Internship Program Duration: May 2018 thru August 2018 and September thru December 2018.

Hours: Minimum of 20 - 25 hours per week at company office located in Birmingham, Alabama
